The Italian fashion house, Missoni, famous for its chevron patterned or stripe knitwear popular among celebs, is launching a new line for Target to arrive Sept.13th. The collection will include over 400 items ranging from clothing, to pillows, to strollers, and more. This extensive collection will only be available for a limited time however, just like the other successful designer launches Target has had over the past few years that we weren’t ready to see go. Zac Posen, Liberty of London, and Alexander McQueen (yes, the designer of Kate Middleton’s wedding dress had a collection for Target) to name a few, but the selection gets picked over quickly so be sure to mark this on you calendar!
Missoni is a family run business founded in 1953, which has consistently stayed in the headlines with controversial fashion show “wardrobe malfunctions” involving sheer tops and no undergarments as well as the backing in the USA by Vogue’s editor, Diana Vreeland, which cemented its place in the Fashion Hall of Fame.
With the developement of M Missoni, a secondary clothing line with a less expensive price point, they became in touch with a broader customer base, which they since followed up with Missoni Home. The opening of Hotel Missoni Edinburgh in 2009 and the Hotel Missoni Kuwait in March of 2011, has officially proved this family business has turned into a lifestyle.
